impromptu road trip to tahlequah.

today travis messaged and asked if the girls and i could have the house ready for a house showing for today.  we got up and got everything ready and then loaded the boys in the back of the car {travis had my car detailed for me last week while i was in houston, so i hated having to load them up, but i made sure to lay down a nice comfy blanket for them}.  we usually put oliver in the back seat of the car and conor in one of our laps, instead of in the cargo area, but this time i decided to give them the entire back area. 

we drove around the block a couple of times, i ran into walgreens and then into GNC.  after that, the showing still wasn't finished, so i decided to head to my dad's land in tahlequah.  sierra was following us in the truck while i ran the first few errands because she planned to go tan after we were finished. she decided to go with us, so she parked the truck in the target parking lot and hopped in with us.  haley was hungry so we grabbed a quick bite at the freddy's drive-thru.  i had a concrete, but remind me to never get burgers from freddy's.  haley got one and it looked terrible.  it was the thinnest burger i've ever seen in my life!

when we got to the land, mom and dad were busy working on the house, but they were happy for the company.  the boys love being out on the land.  it was a little muddy, though, so by the time we left, conor looked like he was wearing little brown socks.

sweet oliver.

i felt completely drained after the events of the week and i was battling an awful headache so i stayed home from work to recover.  i went out in the backyard and snapped a couple of pictures of oliver.  the heat was too much for my headache so i quickly headed back in, but i was glad to see this sweet boy's smile.

baking for parker's birthday.

there was little going on at the office today {i only received two emails, and they were both junk}, so i spent time at the house.  i was already all caught up on the laundry and had even gotten most of the christmas presents put away, and i didn't really have anything to write about ... so i pitter-pattered around the house.

lindsay had been unable to find a "1" cookie cutter for parker's birthday party, and i had one on hand, so she asked if i would bake the cookies for his party.  i already had dough from our baking night, so i pulled it out and set to work on baking tiny little 1s.

in the middle of baking it started snowing -- the first of the season.  it was too warm to stick, but the big, fluffy flakes were so beautiful as they fell.  i'm keeping my fingers crossed for more.

while i baked, my boys napped.  oli has a knack for knowing when his picture is about to be snapped and almost always wakes up.

i have absolutely loved this time at home, doing things i love, and spending time with my boys.  i am so thankful for my job and like what i do ... but if i never had to work again, that would be okay by me.  

sunday dinner with the family.

travis and i got home from vacation on wednesday and headed back to work the next day ... no easy feat, let me tell you.

today, we headed to muskogee for a little time with my family.  mom was cooking sunday dinner, so we headed down to join.  little conor went with us.  he wasn't easily separated from us after we'd been gone all week.

this boy turns 1 this week!  such a big guy now, but still a little cuddle bug.  it's hard to remember our lives without him.  oliver - sweet oli bear - we love you so much! happy {early} birthday!!

Project 365: an edmond visit

i so wish my iPhone camera had a zoom ... or that i would just get back in the habit of carrying my actual camera around again. this weekend we paid a visit to edmond for tabitha's birthday. conor was so excited to run and play outside with all the boys as soon as we got there. there were so many endearing shots i wish i could have captured.

Project 365: travis and zoey.

travis stayed the night with amanda and zach last night so he could wake up this morning and play in a pool tournament. he said as soon as amanda came in the guest room where he was sleeping, zoey jumped on the bed and laid right on top of his head, like a hen sitting on an egg. he got her to move down and she stayed right beside him all morning. such sweetie pies.

november 2008: a look back.

in november, a new member joined our family. a little neice named layla. justin and lindsay got a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous baby pyrenees. every week we've watched her grow and can not believe how quickly she is growing up.

november was even more special for us. on november twenty-first, travis asked rhiannon if she was ready for her next fairy tale as his wife. the answer of course was yes. now we find ourselves booking venues, attending wedding shows, and planning our big event for 2009.

we spent thanksgiving with both of our families and it was our first holiday with lindsay. for the first time, we had thanksgiving at the lears/aukerman's first and then at mom and dad's. layla and ivory spent lots of time together, and my dad's sister "nanny" joined us for the first time in years.
