bachelorette party: the party.

okay, we've talked about preparing for, the day of, and even the cabin.  now onto the good stuff.  ;)

as soon as we got to the cabin, the sun was beginning to set, and we had lots to bring in from the cars.  as soon as everything was unloaded, the girls set to work like little fairy godmothers.  i kept asking if i could help ... and kept getting told no.

isn't my sister gorgeous?

we were looking for matches ... and came across these instead  =/

the girls made a yummy dinner, and it was so fun to eat together at the dining room table with good food, good wine, and good friendships.

the girls made a menu of all of the gifts as a special gift for travis to choose from on the honeymoon {or the week following the wedding since we're not taking a trip}.  they each had to pick a name and then vote on the best name for each item.  it was a fun little game, but a little too risque to post the names here {a few of them make me blush!}

we didn't end up having a fire pit, and i looooove roasted marshmallows ... so i improvised.  just as yummy as a campfire!  {you don't want to do this with a scented candle}.

to make s'mores, amelia popped the graham crackers and marshmallows in the oven.  they were the gooey-est s'mores i've ever seen in my life!

we watched bridesmaids and crowded together on the couch. it felt like a real slumber party.  after the movie, more s'mores were made, and then we headed out to chat at the table on the front porch.  it was already well after midnight.  we visited for a long time before finally heading in around 2:00 or so.  we were a little freaked out when a car drove by and stopped at the top of the hill -- kasi had just been sharing stories about how many times her house had been broken into, so we were easily spooked.

when my head hit the pillow, i was out like a light.  i'm much too old for these late night shenanigans!

we woke up the next morning, and i was so sad to see the party come to an end. there was time for a quick breakfast of donettes donuts.  then we had knock out the clean up list.  we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the deck and enjoyed the beauty of the lake before packing everything into the cars and driving away.

it was such an amazing time.  i would like to make it a tradition and head out there each year for a fun night with the girls.

thank you so much sierra, kate, kasi, jen, and amelia for such a fantastic night!

bachelorette party: the cabin.

before telling all the juicy details of our night at the cabin, i wanted to post the pictures i took of each of the rooms.  this was such a fun cabin for a bachelorette party!

this was our view of the stairs leading down to the cabin.  we parked at the top of the stairs and made our way down.

i took this picture just to show that the level we were on was surrounded by rock.

there was a deck that wrapped around two sides of the house, and we had great views of the lake from the deck.

this is the part of the deck that ran right next to the front door and the front windows.

this is the deck next to the dining room in the cabin.

isn't it gorgeous?

right outside the dining room there was also a grill.  the girls had hoped for a fire pit {for s'mores} but we never found one.  there may have been one down by the lake, but we stayed close to the house. {i actually took these pictures the morning after the bachelorette party.  the sun was already setting the night we arrived and it was too dark to capture and shots}.

this was the "master" bedroom in the cabin ...

... with a nice big closet ...

... and a jack-and-jill bathroom ...

... with a large shower across from those shelves of towels ...

... and the other "main" bathroom off the main living space.

this view looks into the main bathroom from the hallway.

these doors are gorgeous and are in the hallway just outside of the bathroom.  they conceal a washer and dryer.

you can see straight from the door of the master room back into the great room.

directly across from the sliding wood doors is a staircase

and just beyond the staircase is the dining area with sliding doors that go to the deck.

if you go up the stairs, they turn to the right

and then turn to the right again to go up to the loft ...

where there is a queen size bed ...

... and a leather futon that folds out into a bed.

you can see from the loft down into the great space.

i just loved our little cabin!  thanks for finding this little beaut, girls!
