yesterday christopher called the guys into the office to announce that sixbyte will be closing it's doors at the end of this month. everyone will be able to work through the end of april ... and then that's it.
i was a little taken aback to hear the news {i wasn't working at sixbyte on thursday, so i had to hear it second-hand from travis at the end of the day}, but not completely surprised christopher had made this decision. {our paychecks have bounced four times since christmas}.
i don't think travis or i either one know what to think about this. travis has grown weary of sixbyte and the drop in morale that comes with a business that is having such a difficult time. being without a job {for both of us now} is more than a little scary.
we've been talking about needed changes in our lives. we're definitely ready to be out of my parents' house. what started as a 5 to 6 month transition period while we were preparing for the wedding has now turned into a year-long move-in with my parents and sister. we're trying to be excited about this change and look at it as positive movement ... but as i said, we're definitely nervous about the uncertainty of the future, especially when it's a change that affects the livelihood of us both.
keep us in your thoughts and prayers as the next few weeks unfold.

leartec solutions.

travis has talked about owning his own business for quite some time now. he really enjoys computers, and that's the field he is currently in, so it's likely that's the kind of business he will open when the time is right.
a while back i designed some collateral for him, but we never did anything with it. he has started doing computer repair work on the side this past year and we're crossing our fingers that this business will begin to grow gradually as well. if we had the means, he would be ready to leave his job and do the same kind of work for himself today. for now he will continue to spread the word and build his business on the side.
