mamma mia!

this blog was written by one of us, and one of us alone, but i love, love, love! this movie!!!

when i saw the previews i never thought that i would really enjoy the movie, but tonight, amelia, karen, claudine & i went for a girls' night out, and i fell in love!

amelia and i couldn't believe how much meryl streep's character could have been played by my mom! several times we felt like we were watching a blonde version of my mom on the screen. after the movie i called her to tell her so and she said that my sister said the exact same thing after they saw it. truly a feel good film that will make you want to jump on the bed, dance down the aisle, and burst into laughter!

two american kids doing the best they can

this week i made my bike riding debut. on tuesday night travis took me for a ride on the bike. we were bored and didn't want to sit around the house, but we also didn't want to spend a lot of money. we got on the bike and went for a ride to broken arrow's mcalister's to see amelia, but when we got there, she had already left. we headed to muskogee from there, driving through wagoner and porter. the sunset in the mirrors was beautiful! we got to muskogee, but didn't stay long -- just long enough to say hello to my family at the pool hall, fill up on beverages and gas, and then head back to tulsa. the ride home was great, too, because the sky was so clear and the stars were beautiful. i told travis that i didn't know if it was a good thing or not that he let me ride; he used to always tell me that he loved me too much to let me ride; that he just really didn't want anything to happen to me. i asked him if he decided he doesn't love me as much. ;)

today at work was our quarter 2 branch review. i was shocked to see my name on the screen at one point -- i won the "giant leap" award for the most individual growth over quarter one. i was very excited and very surprised! now i'll have to really work hard to get it again next quarter!! =) pete won top producers (which came as no surprise), and we also found out that if we make the high achievers' club, addison will pay for a car and insurance for a year. i don't think that it will be possible for anyone on my team to get it this year ... but next year it is definitely doable!

tonight i got home as travis was headed across the street to run. i walked/ran over a few minutes later to meet up with him. we both ran for a little bit and then hopped on the bike to come back to the apartment. travis had me run upstairs and change and then we headed to mcalister's for dinner. i didn't eat much, and actually ended up getting sick, but it was a nice ride on the bike. the air felt good.

now we're sitting at home, and i will probably go to bed soon because i feel so exhausted. i just wanted to share my bike riding adventure with you! =)

... just in time for the biker boyz show in tulsa this weekend. justin and lindsay are supposed to come up and stay so that we can all go to that together.

bonne nuit!

but whenever monday comes

our weekend was adventure-filled. we started friday in muskogee having dinner with some of justin's friends and watching the highly anticipated dark knight. you already know how we felt about that. =)

on saturday the guys went riding on the bikes, and sierra and i spent the morning giving each other pedicures before heading to tulsa. we cleaned my apartment and did laundry. my mom was coming to see the apartment for the first time, and i wanted everything to look nice. i had just gotten in the swing of cleaning and had to quit to jump in the shower.

travis and justin met me at the apartment and the three of us headed to jen's 27th birthday celebration -- court i love the blog that you wrote for jen's birthday! we met jen, court, nick, kate, teah, and bobby at shoguns. dinner was delicious and then we all heaeded to the comedy club next door. i was so full i thought that i would burst. jen looks just precious. she will be one of those tiny, cute pregnant women who carries a little basketball on the front of their belly! talking about the shower and the nursery got me so excited. i loved how court jumped in to describe the baby's room. once we got to the comedy club, i thought we would never stop laughing. both of the comedians were great. i would love to see them again.

the guys had planned to ride back to muskogee that night, but everyone was too tired and had a bit of a headache. mom and aunt shelly got here around 1:00 in the morning; they loved the apartment. it makes me sad to think that we will be moving. on sunday, the guys went back to muskogee to ride with some more of the guys. mom and aunt shelly were already gone to my aunt brenda's when sierra and i woke up. she and i met them in owasso and we shopped at target and a couple of other little stores. we headed to skiatook to my aunt's house to await my aunt shari's arrival from phoenix. my aunt brenda loves to entertain and she immediately set in preparing a large meal for all of us. she wanted everyone out of the kitchen so we put in a chick flick and sat around relaxing.
we kept waiting for justin, travis, and lindsay to arrive, but they never did. aunt shari arrived and we all sat down to eat.

after dinner all the girls sat around talking and then started the the first wives club. my mom and aunt shelly had never seen it ... i couldn't believe it. looking back, it's weird that my gran wasn't there. i think my memories are trying to put her there this weekend. i don't know that i will ever get over that feeling. i had just finished all of my things in the car when justin, travis, and lindsay rode up on the bikes ... it was a few minutes after 11. i was so tired, but i hadn't seen travis all day and he asked me to stick around. everyone ate (again) and chatted for a bit, then the four of us headed back to our apartment. i beat them home and came in, jumped in the shower and got into bed. travis, justin, and lindsay didn't make it to bed until sometime after 6. i woke up at about 4:45 to the sound of their laughter in the living room. i don't know how they weren't exhausted!

today we spent our days at work. travis fell asleep after work for a bit, and then headed back in to the office around 9:00 to do some updates. i've spent the evening uploading pictures. there are so many digital pictures of which i've never gotten prints. i want to get all of my digital albums online so that i can begin to order them a little at a time.
we ran and got ice cream at braum's a few minutes ago and are now settled in for the night. i'll have to head to bed before long ... to wake up and do it all over again. :)
sweet dreams to all of you.

p.s. my earache seems to be doing much better. i haven't been as dizzy, and i don't believe it has gotten worse. =)

why so serious?

i will second travis's review of the dark knight. it was indeed most excellent. we were both so ready for it to open. on friday night we went with my brother and some of his friends to dinner in muskogee and then to see the movie. dinner was okay, but not spectacular. the movie was well worth the wait. it was kind of long, but i loved that about it. i loved that they took the time to carry out the entire storyline. if you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should. i think that we need to catch it in the imax now ... =)

The Dark Knight.... MOST EXCELLENT!!!

So I've had some requests for THE DUDE'S opinion on the viewing of The Dark Knight. Well.... THE DUDE gives it one of the upmost excellent rankings this year yet!

10 STARS!!! **********

You got it.... 100% BADASS!!!!!!

Take that you dirty bastards who predicted the worst. First off, Christian Bale as the new Batman was probably the most far-fetched idea Hollywood ever had... but it more than worked. He has exceeded all expectations. Best Batman since Michael Keaton, quite possibly better.

Lets put it this way... I watched Transformers 4 times in theaters....... 2 times at the IMAX, 2 times regular. I liked the new Batman movie at least just as much. One question though, "Where does he get all those toys?" :)

busy. busy.

wow. it seems we have been so busy lately. last week i found out that i have an inner ear infection, which would explain why i was so dizzy all last week. on friday, i left for oklahoma city (the rodeo rolled over 100,000 miles on the way there) to meet my good friend andy -- one of the few friends from high school that i still keep in touch with. travis made his way to muskogee and spent all weekend riding bikes with roy, justin, ryan, steven, and a couple of other guys.
after i got to andy's we picked up her good friend kat from college and the three of us headed to dallas for jenny's bachelorette party. jenny is another friend of mine and andy's from high school. we had a good time catching up, but the trip to dallas couldn't have been longer! once we got there we picked up leah, one of their friends from college, at the airport ... only to find ourselves at the wrong airport. she was flying in from one airport and flying out of the other, which explains the confusion. we made it to jenny's sometime after 1 in the morning, i believe, and we stayed the night. the next morning andrea and i woke up, went shopping, and headed to hotel zaza. it was beautiful!

we got everything set up for the party and kat and jen and most of the other girls had arrived by that time. kat helped us finish setting up and everyone came upstairs. everyone was so impressed with the hotel -- way to go andy!!! lil wayne was staying there the same weekend, but we just saw his crew. we had jen's lingerie shower where she received lots of cute things and then we went to dinner & out on the town for a bit. i was thankful that no one got too wild and crazy.
we took this picture right before going out. i kept saying all weekend how interesting it is that a group of friends can be so diverse and everyone get along so well.

i did like the final pub that we ended up at. we got to go up on the roof and we could see downtown dallas from where we were. most of the people were friendly and the music at that particular place was better than the one we started at.

travis spent the weekend in muskogee riding bikes with the guys and getting to know lindsay, a girl that my was recently introduced to, a little better. andrea, kat, and i got back to okc on sunday, and i couldn't wait to get home. travis wasn't home. he and justin and lindsay were all trying to get ready so that we could go to a movie. my stomach was rolling the entire way home from dallas, so i wasn't the most talkative person when they all got to the apartment.

we headed to starworld to finally see wall-e.
it was such a cute movie. we were all laughing the entire time ... but i started feeling worse. i actually ending up getting sick before we left the theater. i felt terrible, especially since it was my first time to meet lindsay.
after the movie we had to drive justin and lindsay back to muskogee ... even more embarrassing than throwing up at the theater? throwing up on the side of the road with multiple people in my car. sheesh.
all in all it was a pretty good weekend. i used to love to travel, but i have never been more homesick than i was on this weekend trip to dallas. i was so glad to see eveyone, but since i didn't feel well most of the weekend, and since i was so homesick, i was very grateful to be home.
one of travis's friends tron wrecked while they were out riding this weekend. he seems to be doing okay, though, and none of the other boys were injured.
the week started out well. last night travis and i ended up being out until almost midnight at one of his clients. he had to do some updates that had to take place after hours ... updates that were only supposed to take ten minutes, and ended up taking 3 hours!!! i felt so bad for him. sorry baby, i know it had to be frustrating.
today we fell asleep together after work. we've wanted a nap for so long, but usually find other things to do. plus it's so late once we home from work that if we nap, we usually aren't able to sleep at night. i think we were just so worn out, we couldn't help but cuddle up and go to sleep.
we made another meat, cheese, vegetable, and cracker tray and we're nibbling on that. i like how fresh everything is and that i don't have to fix a lot to eat for a couple of days after making them.
now travis has put in into the blue and since one of our favorite things to do is cuddle and watch a movie, i think i will take this opportunity to do just that!
oh! and on a side note, our friends court and jen found out today that they are having a little boy!!! we couldn't be more excited for them! congratulations you two!

snips and snails and puppy dog tails.

i just wanted to add a quick note letting you know that i have added pictures from the fourth and from rockets over rhema. the trick you see above is brought to you courtesy of travis. he may or may not have taught tyler this ... and tyler may or may not have spent the entire fourth of july weekend walking through the house displaying his new talent. for those of you who are still enduring ... i'm so sorry. =) travis can't stop laughing about it.

a good home must be made.

monday, travis and i were both in sour moods that we couldn't shake. that's one of the things that i love about us though -- if someone has wronged one of us, the other is just as upset, as if they were wronged as well.
travis was in muskogee on monday for court for a ticket he had received. he spent a litte time at the pool hall and dropped by the lears'. when he got home, we went to the grocery store and also rented a couple of movies. we love the "red box" machines that vend current releases for only $1!! before we could watch the movie, though, we had to watch two videos from our series. then we watched stardust. it was really cute, and after it was over, travis told me that i was his star ... awww.

right after work yesterday we went to see another apartment that's not far from where we live now. unfortunately the traffic getting in and out of the location is terrible. plus, the streets leading around the complex are so narrow it's hard for two cars to drive along. it looks like the search is still on. last night we came home and fixed a tray of rolled lunch meats, cheeses, broccoli, tomatoes, baby carrots, and wheat thins. we've wanted to do that since being at aunt sue's. we fixed quite a bit so that it would last us a couple of days. right after eating travis fell asleep -- and crashed hard! he slept for about 3 hours. i worked on reports and activities for work. when he woke up, we put in another movie -- untraceable
. i didn't get too into it because i was still doing stuff for work and travis ended up going down to the gym to work out. i had just really gotten into the movie (which is a little scary and a little intense) when travis knocked on the door. i almost jumped out of my skin! he was finished working out and hadn't taken his keys. i finished up a few more things for work and then headed to bed. travis was finishing updates for one of his clients for work, so i think he was up a little bit later than i was.
i've been really dizzy every day this week. today was especially bad, and i felt completely exhausted. i'm actually home from work today because i just did not feel well at all. at lunch travis and i went over to see another apartment. it's where amber and eric live. it's further from where we live now, and we would have to travel 169 each morning, so i'm not particularly thrilled with it; i think that travis is set on it though.
there is one other one that i really want -- the one on riverside -- but we may give up on it depending how many people on currently on the wait list.

amelia made some delicious cupcakes earlier in the week. travis can't quit talking about them, so i think i may go to the store in a bit and get the ingredients to make a cake.
keep your fingers crossed that we find a great place to live soon. i feel like time is running out ... we have to give notice at our apartment this week.

but whenever monday comes

this morning i woke up bright and early -- which was surprising considering i was unable to fall asleep last night, even after being awake later than usual. i was unable to get travis up, but that's okay since he doesn't have to be to work until about an hour and a half after i do.

do you know something i love? as i type this i am thinking in a british accent! hahaha

oops...have to write more later.

summer summer summer time.

the past few days have been very eventful. thursday my office closed early for the holiday. after my chiropractic appointment, travis and i headed to muskogee. he plays in leagues every thursday night, though, this league should be ending soon. while we were at the pool hall, it started to storm, but we weren't too concerned as it appeared to just be heavy showers. before too long, though, it began to hail and strong winds came up. the dumpster was blown about 200 yards where it tipped over in front of the doors. most of the people in the poolhall were standing in front of the doors checking out the storm and those who could were checking the weather on their cell phones (myself included). the radar didn't show that the storm was going to be too bad ... little did they know that there would be a flood! the storm got pretty ugly as several transformers began to blow and light up the sky. we lost most of the power at the pool hall and people who came in out of the rain let us know that the streets were flooding -- one of the main streets was completely shut down because of the high levels of water. we waited out the storm for a bit and then headed back to tulsa. we missed most of the rain as we were driving home, but it hit tulsa right as we pulled into broken arrow. we made it home safe and sound and got ready for bed so we could prepare for our trip to edmond.

friday we woke up early, did a little laundry, got ready for the day and packed our bags. the trip to edmond wasn't too bad. we were going to see travis's family again. aunt lou was still in town, and it was aunt sue's birthday. in addition to that, everyone was going to the grimes for the fourth of july. when we got to the house, the food was all almost ready -- we weren't expecting it to be done so soon -- and all of the family was there. i snapped some great pictures of the boys.

fireworks are illegal in edmond, so it was the first fourth that i haven't gotten to set off fireworks. there are several displays in town, but travis didn't want to go see them; it just reminded him that he wasn't allowed to shoot any off himself. instead we went to the theater and watched wanted. we've been waiting for this movie to open, so i was excited that we were finally getting to go.
after the movie we spent time driving around having a few serious talks on subjects such as love, faith, death, and the future. we talk about the future a lot, so the conversation revolved much more around some of the other subjects -- apparently edmond does that to us because last weekend we had another serious talk between the two of us. that is one thing that i believe we both appreciate -- our ability to talk to each other about anything that is on our minds. it's not always easy, but we always do. hope that it is always this way.

saturday was uneventful. tabitha and the boys came and went and we really didn't have much time with them on saturday. travis and i came and went as well as we drove around looking for something to keep ourselves entertained. we spent time at the bookstore and also picked up some ice cream. when we got back to the house most people were outside working in the yard; we heard that things were getting tense outside, and i was thankful that we weren't a part of that. =) we planned to go home, but dinner was being prepared, and i didn't want to miss out on the yummy food. dee, sue, and lue's long-lost cousin flint was in town, and they were preparing a traditional "oklahoma meal" for him. while dinner was being fixed we went out on the back porch to watch a couple of videos. it was so nice outside, and i'm sad that we haven't spent more time outside this summer. we have decided that we would like to get our scuba diving certifications and may even look into that next weekend ... that would mean a lot more time outside. amanda and simone made it to the house late that night. we didn't get to spend a ton of time with them, but it was good to see both the girls. i felt like i hadn't seen amanda in ages. even though we're not officially, we call each other sister, and i miss her when too much time has passed.

today we slept in, got ready, and then headed back to tulsa. coming home was bittersweet. it was nice to be back in our own home, but at the same time, it was a return to reality so-to-speak. back to laundry, back to work tomorrow, and back to the realization that we have to pack and still need to find a new place to live. we put some laundry in, cleaned up the house, fixed dinner and then decided to go watch another movie. we've not watched many movies lately, so it's been nice this weekend to escape for a bit and watch some of the ones we've been highly anticipating. this time we went to see hancock; amelia and justin came with us. j rode his bike up and for the first time in i don't know when, amelia was on time! =) she was happy to say that she was ready even before travis.
the movie was great -- though travis thinks he likes ironman better -- and afterward we all stopped for ice cream at coldstone. bub was supposed to head home right after, but now we've gotten ourselves engrossed in transformers.
i suppose i'll finish up laundry and get things in order to begin a new week. amelia, travis, and i will continue to figure out where each of us will next call home. fingers crossed! safe travels to all of our family as they head to their homes.

......who am i??

first off... the pic below is 100% totally fake. our floor has carpet. :)

so it's been a few days since my last post. my apologies that i don't keep you up to date with every little detail of my life. ;) my first and only post thus far was merely a pinhole vision into my cosmic world of nonethingness. i thought it best to expand your knowledge of who i am... and what i am not.

so, who is.... THE DUDE??

THE DUDE is a statement.... a way of life if you will. he represents a persona of rebellious, yet loving, charm of wisdom with a twist of childish mannerisms. WOW!! -where's my english teacher now??

this is 100% my brain. those that know me.... well, you know that i am a mystical being of weirdness. those that don't.... who cares, i don't you anyway. so, if your still asking the question, "who is THE DUDE," chances are that i don't know you. but if your looking to get to know me.....

my name is travis. i am a psycho tech freak who loves romantic comedies(favorite movie being Serendipity) and whose favorite holiday is the forth of july for the very simple reason that on this day only, it is absolutely legal to blow shit up. :)

before i end this i should most definitely confess my undying love to my lady..... otherwise the wrath will be endless. ;) so....i am a man of undying love for my lady! :)

have an awesome day.... and be excellent!!
THE DUDE.... signing out

moving on.

and so it begins ...

today we brought home our first set of boxes, the first trip of many, i'm sure. travis had saved several boxes at work. we've decided that it will be best if we not wait until the week that we're to move. the goal is for us to begin packing now and start taking boxes down to the garage a little at a time. this way, when moving day actually comes, the trips up and down the stairs won't be so hard on us. with me having had a slipped disk and unable to carry anything over 10 pounds, i want to do the most i can to ensure this move goes as easily and smoothly as possible.

we were able to have lunch together today at chick-fil-a after dropping my car off at the shop. two days in a row. i thoroughly enjoyed it. the lunch, i mean. i'm not so thrilled that we had to put the rodeo in the shop. just regular maintenance, but it's still costly and annoying. =)

the rest of the evening we've spent doing laundry, cleaning (travis fixed our vacuum) and trying to get the mundane details of our lives organized ... that should be a trip!

for now we're watching the saint, and i'm finding it impossible to keep up with the story line and the multiple characters val kilmer is playing.
