bachelorette party: the afternoon.

the first part of the bachelorette party started with amelia | kate | kasi | jen | and me.  andy was in texas for jenny's {super cute} baby shower | amanda had to work | and sierra was joining later in the evening.

amelia, kate, and i hopped in kate's car together.  with jen and kasi both following in their own cars.  we were headed to an oklahoma winery about an hour away.  i was sad the other girls couldn't join us in the car, but we were headed to the lake right after that, and they both needed to leave straight from the cabin in the morning.

i don't know if you've ever ridden with kate before ... but she doesn't use cruise control and usually has the pedal to the medal.  we were afraid the other girls wouldn't be able to keep up.  everyone did great and arrived in one piece, though.

i'm waiting for pictures from the rest of the girls.  i didn't take any with my camera at the winery.  i'll come back with an update.

we started out with a tasting {front and back of their list} and then made our final selections and headed into the bistro.  unfortunately the kitchen closed early that day.  everyone was so kind, though, and let us purchase snacks out of the storefront and take into the bistro.  they managed to round up some cheese and crackers.  we nibbled on jams, olives, and salsas the girls had purchased.

once our bellies were filled, we loaded ourselves back into the cars and headed to skiatook.  much to everyone's disappointment, the winery lived up to the stereotype of an oklahoma winery and none of us walked away with any bottles.  {sidenote: there are some oklahoma wineries that are in fact very yummy}.  nonetheless we still had a great time.

the funniest part, was when one of the owners looked at me and said, "what are you?"  i was wearing a sash and a birdcage veil.  i guess since it was the weekend after halloween, he thought i was in costume.  in retrospect, i suppose my outfit did look a little madonna-esque.

the ride went quickly {but i was starting to develop a migraine -- nooooooo} so we stopped at a local gas station for a toothbrush and advil.

then it was on to the cabin ...
