it's the most wonderful time of the year: part i.

this year, christmas was a little bit different -- travis and i hosted my family's christmas.  it's beginning to become a logistical nightmare as we work around significant others, their brothers and sisters, and our own plans.

we ended up doing christmas dinner on christmas eve.  it took me forever to come up with the menu.  it seemed like we had just had turkey and ham at thanksgiving, and i really wanted to do something a little different that still felt like christmas, and could become a new holiday tradition.  at the same time, i knew i couldn't pick something too different or everyone would be disappointed.

finally, on sunday i decided on the menu and headed out to reasor's while travis drove tyler home. i began developing a cold on friday, and by the time i made it to the grocery store, i really wasn't feeling well.  i think it took me twice as long at the store because i wasn't thinking clearly.

once i got home, travis unloaded the car for me. i came inside, put on pj's, and snuggled in for the night.

coming up ...

       on the menu:
  • beef tenderloin
  • pork tenderloin
  • garlic mashed potatoes
  • green bean casserole
  • corn chowder
  • candied sweet potatoes
