pictures update ... and apparently a whole lot more

finally! all of the stars have aligned ... or something like that. i have my pictures' memory card + i have my laptop + i have time! this morning has started out crazy. for starters, we were supposed to go to okc. we were going to spend time with travis's family and get some much needed time with my dear andy. plans changed, however, when travis's dad was in the hospital longer, and everyone ended up coming to muskogee, instead. everyone except for andrea, and i was so looking forward to our time together! it actually works out {whether i want to admit it or not} because our funds were running low yet again, and it probably wouldn't have been the smartest idea to go out of town anyway.

we woke up this morning with quite an agenda: help my parents' get the electronic bracket set up at the pool hall for their 9-ball tournament today; mow travis's parents' lawn; mow my parent's lawn; put a mower back together for my dad; take sierra to drop off her required summer assignments for her sophomore ap english class this fall; visit travis's dad in the hospital; i'm sure there are other things i'm forgetting, but that's a start.

this morning we got around {i didn't get to take a shower, but decided that it would be okay since we were working in the yard all day; i could take one after we finished}. we headed to the gameroom to get the bracket set up and help my parents through registration {they are a little electronically/technologically challenged}. when we got there, travis gave my mom a crash course in the tournament software {again} and then they began calling all over town looking for an lcd television to display the bracket {since their big screen was damaged in the flood}. travis helped them talk to the service guys to ensure they were getting the tv with the appropriate input jack for the laptop. my parents headed to the store to get it. i waited and waited to hear from my sister. her work was due by noon. finally at 11:30 i called her. she said she had just put the finishing touch on her paper and would be ready to go when i got to the house. i picked her up ... and then we took the wrong way to her school since we were both talking. we got to the school about 10-15 minutes before noon, but the parking lot was empty and the offices were dark. she may have missed the deadline ... by a week! i took her back to the house, helped her draft and send an email to her teacher, and then she informed me she had to work at the pool hall but needed a shower. 40 minutes later {when i told her she only had 20} we headed toward the door. just as we got there my parents walked in. there weren't enough people to hold the tournament, so they came home, and sierra and diana were to run the business as if it were a normal saturday. they had left travis at the pool hall, because i had left my phone in the car, missing their calls, and they weren't sure where i was.

i got to the pool hall to pick up travis {an hour after i left} and then he told me that we were going to tulsa. his cell phone died last night and has decided that it will no longer charge. at all. on any charger. so since we aren't in a situation to purchase new phones, he headed to tulsa to get a cell phone from his office {with his boss's permission of course}.

when we got to his parents' house to pick up eric {who was going to ride with us}, steve was home from the hosptial. he was glad to be home, but i could see his hands and arms visibly shaking, and he was talking kind of weakly. he told us they had discovered that he has crohnes disease ... not colitis like they originally thought. there is no cure for this disease, but it is treatable. it wasn't great news, but i suppose it could have been much, much worse. for now, he is resting and enjoying being back at home.

travis and eric decided to make the trip to tulsa a "guys-only" event ... so here i am. still with no shower. with my laptop. with my memory card. and with the time to post pictures.

so without further ado ...

actually, on second thought ... now that i have typed all of my paragraphs, if i try to post pictures in blogger, it will mess with the layout of the update. while i have plenty of time, i do not have the wherewithall to mess with the layout for an hour after i upload the pictures. let's move to a new post.
